Art is a way that humans can express themselves, challenge the political/social quo, convey information, or simply entertain us. The art I do is to convey information or simply to entertain or note the beauty or ugliness of the world. The human race went from symbolic or usage of symbols in art to convey information, to a more realistic expression in art to convey a picture of life or religion, and now back to symbolic art. Looking around at the different types of art (expressed on canvas or adjacent mediums), I have compiled a list of art types/movements and I will eventually discuss each one. Certainly, there are various forms of other expressions of art including music, movement, writing, film, etc..
